GABRIELLA CILMI

OK folks, get excited. She has just wowed audiences at the UK V Festivals, Glastonbury, and T In The Park. Originally from Melbourne  & now London based, this 16 year old singing sensation is one of the most talked about new artists of 2008 and she's soared to success, both here and internationally, at a remarkable rate.

Her debut single, 'Sweet About Me' was released in Australia earlier this year and stormed up the Aria charts to take the number 1 position and is now accredited with platinum sales.

Her debut album 'Lessons to be Learned' entered the Australian charts at number 2 and the UK charts at number 8 and is accredited gold sales in Australia and the UK thus far selling over 150,000 copies in the UK.

Publicly endorsed by Liam Gallagher on Britain's Radio 1, we are of course referring to GABRIELLA CILMI [pronounced “chill-me”]. Her UK chart action sees her join a select group of Australian artists who have achieved this level of chart success in the UK including Kylie Minogue, INXS, Natalie Imbruglia, and Crowded House.

Traversing all manner of genre from blues, pop, punk, glam, rock and beautiful balladry it's glued together by Gabriella's brilliant and unique vocal talent, and a worldliness and care free-ness that's musically manifested into an infectious, emotive swagger.

Often compared to Amy Winehouse (although ironically commencing her career at an earlier age) Gabriella is now based in London and is one of few Australian acts to have performed on the esteemed Jools Holland show. She will be travelling the world as her success dominoes around the globe.

Currently in the early stages of promoting her record throughout Europe, where 'Sweet About Me' is already at number 2 on iTunes in Switzerland, Portugal, Holland, Austria and Germany , Cilmi is confirmed on various UK and European festivals throughout the summer including the above mentioned, West Rock Cognac in France, iTunes Festival London, T In The Park, V Festival, Sun Jam in Switzerland (she recently fulfilled one of her all time dreams, when she took to the stage at this year's Glastonbury Festival).

We are pleased as punch to have Gabriella Cilmi on board for HOMEBAKE 2008 for her first ever festival performance in Australia.
