DIED PRETTY

Formed in 1984 by the song writing partnership of singer Ronald S Peno and guitarist Brett Myers, DIED PRETTY burst onto a burgeoning Sydney alternative scene with a series of remarkable records that established them locally and, after well received overseas releases, allowed them to begin touring America and Europe on a regular basis to healthy and appreciative crowds.

Move forward to 1992 when the band recorded their landmark album Doughboy Hollow, this release projected them into the musical mainstream. It also propelled them into a worldwide deal with Sony/Columbia that, after two albums, unfortunately ended tragically.

Died Pretty returned to their indie roots and ultimate dissolution in 2002, after an eighteen-year career. Early this year, following the reissue of Doughboy Hollow, the original Doughboy recording line-up reformed for five sold out shows across Australia as part of the Don't Look Back classic albums festival.

Doughboy Hollow is frequently voted into the Top Twenty all time Australian albums so it came as little surprise that this tour was a sell out affair. Now at the invitation of HOMEBAKE, the band will reform for a special one-off appearance.

Again featuring the Doughboy recording line up of Ronald S Peno, Brett Myers, John Hoey, Chris Welsh and Steve Clark, this is highly likely to be your last chance to catch this marvellous band as there are no plans for continuing appearances.

Died Pretty's early material is currently being remastered and packaged for a double CD release in November to coincide with their appearance at HOMEBAKE 2008.
